Question about Chemical Peels for Acne Scars...the REAL kind, not from stores?

SO i want to get a chemical peel because i have acne scars (Picking, i know...i shouldn't but i do).

I don't want to use any from the store because i don't really feel comfortable using those and ruiing my face even more.

I want to get a professional one from a spa or a dermatologist...

What are the risks?

Would it be alright on sensitive skin?

How much does it cost?

WHen would i see results?

Thanks to all that help!Question about Chemical Peels for Acne Scars...the REAL kind, not from stores?
you need to buy from a reputed and trusting source...like a beautician or a beauty salon that makes homemade chemical peels like orange peel or cucumber peel or even clay peels/facial masks. they rarely use toxins/ harsh chemicals and fillers so according to me it is very safe for use. the risks might be very minimal...to nil. Make sure to read the ingredients in the mask/peel and do a sensitivity test on the inner portion of your elbow and wait for 5 mins...if there are no adverse reactions then it is safe for use on your facial skin. It may cost anywhere between $-$$, but if it works why not! I suggest you don't spend more than a 100$ as they might be just ripping you off.

As far as results are concerned, you need to be patient with any product as it takes time for it to get adjusted to your skin and show effects. Also first judge whether your skin is dry/oily /normal and buy the respective product accordingly.

Just a tip: drink plenty of water to flush away the toxins and excessive oils and restore moisture therapy for your skin along with all the treatments that you will be going for.

good luck.Question about Chemical Peels for Acne Scars...the REAL kind, not from stores?
I'm a licensed esthetician, with experience in peels. I would actually recommend several sessions of microdermabrasion instead of a peel. It has better results on scarring and as long as you don't have active acne there should be no other contraindications because you can have someone use a diamond tip if you are sensitive. The results from micro are immediate but the more sessions the more noticable it is. It cost anywhere from 50-100 dollars per session but most all spas will do a package for less. Good luck!
TCA peels at a dermatologists office can cost from 300-1000 dollars and after the five days of healing results would be seen immediately. The five days of healing is because after the peel your skin would look like you have horrible sun burn and your skin would be peeling, so its best not to be seen in public and just stay home for a while. Hope i helped you out .
