I know that it is hard to go to your parents and say you want to see a dermatologist buts its the only way. and when i went to the dermatologist i found out i wasted my money on products for nothing. Insurance enables you to see the dermatologist and get prescription products for free. If you can't find a dermatologist at the moment, ask your doctor to prescribe minocyline pills to attack acne internally taken once at night and once in the morning, and Benzaclin 4% wash and Benzaclin 4%gel to attack it externally.The 4% is for sensitive skin, but you can get an 8% for greater strength is your skin isn't sensitive. The wash should be used twice a day. Apply a quarter size and lather onto wet face. Leave on for 30-40 seconds, and no more to avoid burning. Then apply the gel. Not too much. On the face you should apply a small drop to the fore head and using both index fingers move horizontally outwards. It doesn't need to be directly on the pimple for it to work. Then apply another drop on each of you cheeks and move outward horizontally towards your ears and before you leave your face outline drop downwards. then apply another at the chin and move outwards with the index fingers horizontally. If you have scars, get Retin-A prescribed to heal those nasty scars from the acne. Act fast and see the dermatologist since you may have severe acne. I had cystic acne that would grow and explode then causing scars. My mom finally brought me at the right time to the dermatologist.
Its normal for your skin to dry out since that is the key to controlling acne. You can even ask your dermatologist and he/she will tell you that the products should be aiming to dry your skin out. But if it is really strong, you may have the 8% Benzaclin medication. 4% is best for more sensitive skin.
The darker skin are all SCARS. THE BEST WAY TO REMOVE IT IS BY BEING PRESCRIBED Retin-A AS MENTIONED. It is applied like the benzaclin and should be used in the morning. Don't put too much or you will burn.

As you probably know, acne develops from oils that well up in your pores. It is likely that the acne that appears on your forehead is from the natural oils in your hair. First of all, be sure to wash your face with gentle soap 2 or 3 times a day and, most importantly, arrange your hair so that it isn't touching your face. Aloe vera is a great natural healing agent, but I've never heard of using honey to control acne. Logically, it would seem that honey would clog pores and prevent air from getting to the skin. Concentrated Vitamin E is what you should be using. Also try using coconut butter. You can buy all these from your local pharmacy.

Is it fine for me to use non-comedogenic or oil-free foundation to cover up my acne scars?
I'm 17, male and passionately regret picking and messing up my skin in previous years. I used to have really inflammed acne until my doctor prescribed Tetralysal tablets and Freederm. Now, my skin looks better, but I was just wondering, and I'd appreciate your honest opinion, if wearing non-comedogenic or oil-free foundation has the potential to help me? Have you, or do you know of anyone, who has had success with wearing make-up in order to hide their acne scars and/or other skin blemishes.

Well I'm sure you'll be able to cover your scars with the right products and some practice. I've never known of any of my guy friends using makeup other than in theatre productions. The key would be finding products that match your natural skin color and blending really well in order to make sure that it's not apparent that you're using makeup. Choosing makeup that is non-comedogenic or oil-free would be the best because those will keep you from breaking out again. BUT know that by wearing makeup in general you run the risk of breaking out a bit again. Keep your pores clean and remove the makeup thoroughly but gently when you're done with it.

I'm 50 yrs old. How 2 make face w extremely large pores, black acne scars, extremely dry but oily look......?
I want healthy looking skin that does not break out. I don't have any wrinkles yet, but I started breaking out w cystic and sand like acne late in life. the more i break out, the more holes are created in my skin. i break out around the chin strap area of the face. i am told it could be due to digestive problems if i change my diet it is less but not perfect. so far the doctors don't know anything. the dermatologists only treat the surface w harsh results but they don't know the root of the problem. the homeopathic says my entire digestive system is out of whack i must take enzymes for the rest of the life but he does not know about the skin. so i am guesing that i should change the diet permantly, take enzymes after each meal, excercise alot, but about the rest?

Is vasoline helpful for acne and scars??
No. It is a waterproof barrier for your skin cells. It softens lips because it seals in the natural body moisture/ and oil and that is what your lips need when chapped. Hydro cortisone 10 is sold at the CVS or other pharmacies in the aisles. Read the labels carefully.
Scars are now treated with a product called ';scar gel'; again CVS type place. In the aisles. It is applied daily by rubbing it in. The scar will take some time to go away. Though large scars or fresh and still red need to be evaluated by a doctor before any steps are taken.

Have a good face cleansing routine. Wash your face with a cleanser 3 times a day and then use a toner.

Well I had a lot of acne before if it swell leave it, when you see that white thing at the middle of the pimple squeeze that zit to get out the root of your acne, but do not squeez when it swells and still does not have the white thing. And then after squeezing it wash your face with a glycerin based or sorbitol based soap, it gently cleans and makes your skin clean, next purt a dab of toner to your cotton pad and rub it to the squeezed pimple. And so to have clear skin have these steps:
1. Clean/exfolliate
2. Tone
3. Moisturize
4. Squeeze the root of your acne
and do these things over and over agian.
If your skin dries out use petroleum jelly all over your face
let it stay for aout 20 min. or 10 then wash with glycerin based facial wash. Use this process every afternoon. Then what you need to do is to use your nails to rub over the dried skin pats to get of dead skin.

OK lets be real, acne's a b**** and it's the worst thing to get over but its not impossible. The best thing out there for it right now is Acutane, but, it is not for everyone that's why it is only obtained by a Dr's prespription. Some people tend to be allergic to the medicine, for a few percentage it does not work for, but usually it does, for everyone, even though after you stop using it the acne comes back, like with every other medicine after the treatment is over. It is really harsh on your body though, for women they can't take contraceptives or have kids due to some serious problems that can occur while taking it, other people experience horrible peeling and dryness.
Apart from all this, i used to have acne, apparently not bad enough for Acutane (according to my dermatologist) but it was still bad (at least i thought it was), so i was recommended this over the counter medicine called ';Nature's Cure';. They have two medicines, one formulated for men, and another for women, and among these they have the topical creams and face washes as well as pills that work from the inside out. I personally tried the cream and face wash. Since i started using it i have yet gotten another pimple, seriously, my face is progressing miraculously, alot of the blemishes are gone, almost all. Smooth skin, it does dry it a little bit but barely, everyone's complimented on it. A few more weeks and my face will be completely clear. To help with this i also get facials done, everyonce in a while to help with the deep cleaning, which helps alot to remove stubborn clogs and blackheads and so forth.
I know not all of these over the counter medicines work for everyone, like myself that i've tried Proactive and Murad and all those things and i actually got my face worse due to them. But this one worked, see if you can find it in a neighborhood pharmacy or drugstore, or supermarket (which some of them also sell them), or online in their website.
About a diet, the main cause of acne is not your diet, eating chocolate or drinking too much soda, it's an old wife's tale, BUT a good diet will prevent excess oils in the skin which will clog pores and cause breakouts.
The main cause of acne are your body's hormones, we can't fix those with a change in diet. For me i go to the gym about 5 days a week, and excercise, this helps your metabolism break fatty acids that may affect your hormone production, as well as providing an overall well being for the body and get you nice and fit, a little blood to the old pump is sometimes the best remedy for current health problems as well as future undeveloped ones.
Stress is another factor that people a lot of the time don't consider, it does affect your acne because too much stress will trigger hormone production in the body and well you know the rest. Try to take life easily, i know sometimes it's hard but you gotta try, for my stress, excercise wipes it all out, and it usually does for a lot of people so think about it.

No fast solution for this i am afraid...
You can try a facial called ';dermaabrasion '; which removes scaring from the face over a 6 course session, it is fantastic and does drastically improve the scarring and is not as aggressive as laser treatment.
But you need to ensure your acne is resolved 1st, by this i mean seeing your GP for a 6 mth course of antibiotics to clear up the infection, as the above treatment is quite expensive and would seen a shame to spend the 拢 for the problem to come back .
Also a good OTC cream for occasional spot's like Panoxyl 10 is fantastic and taking Zinc regular from your herbalist shop will also help to keep skin clear in the future.
try Aloe Vera natural ,you`ll have to get your own plant and if you still have pimples try peroxide on them and avoid fatty foods.

OK lets be real, acne's a b**** and it's the worst thing to get over but its not impossible. The best thing out there for it right now is Acutane, but, it is not for everyone that's why it is only obtained by a Dr's prespription. Some people tend to be allergic to the medicine, for a few percentage it does not work for, but usually it does, for everyone, even though after you stop using it the acne comes back, like with every other medicine after the treatment is over. It is really harsh on your body though, for women they can't take contraceptives or have kids due to some serious problems that can occur while taking it, other people experience horrible peeling and dryness.
Apart from all this, i used to have acne, apparently not bad enough for Acutane (according to my dermatologist) but it was still bad (at least i thought it was), so i was recommended this over the counter medicine called ';Nature's Cure';. They have two medicines, one formulated for men, and another for women, and among these they have the topical creams and face washes as well as pills that work from the inside out. I personally tried the cream and face wash. Since i started using it i have yet gotten another pimple, seriously, my face is progressing miraculously, alot of the blemishes are gone, almost all. Smooth skin, it does dry it a little bit but barely, everyone's complimented on it. A few more weeks and my face will be completely clear. To help with this i also get facials done, everyonce in a while to help with the deep cleaning, which helps alot to remove stubborn clogs and blackheads and so forth.
I know not all of these over the counter medicines work for everyone, like myself that i've tried Proactive and Murad and all those things and i actually got my face worse due to them. But this one worked, see if you can find it in a neighborhood pharmacy or drugstore, or supermarket (which some of them also sell them), or online in their website.
About a diet, the main cause of acne is not your diet, eating chocolate or drinking too much soda, it's an old wife's tale, BUT a good diet will prevent excess oils in the skin which will clog pores and cause breakouts.
The main cause of acne are your body's hormones, we can't fix those with a change in diet. For me i go to the gym about 5 days a week, and excercise, this helps your metabolism break fatty acids that may affect your hormone production, as well as providing an overall well being for the body and get you nice and fit, a little blood to the old pump is sometimes the best remedy for current health problems as well as future undeveloped ones.
Stress is another factor that people a lot of the time don't consider, it does affect your acne because too much stress will trigger hormone production in the body and well you know the rest. Try to take life easily, i know sometimes it's hard but you gotta try, for my stress, excercise wipes it all out, and it usually does for a lot of people so think about it.

You can try a facial called ';dermaabrasion '; which removes scaring from the face over a 6 course session, it is fantastic and does drastically improve the scarring and is not as aggressive as laser treatment.
But you need to ensure your acne is resolved 1st, by this i mean seeing your GP for a 6 mth course of antibiotics to clear up the infection, as the above treatment is quite expensive and would seen a shame to spend the 拢 for the problem to come back .
Also a good OTC cream for occasional spot's like Panoxyl 10 is fantastic and taking Zinc regular from your herbalist shop will also help to keep skin clear in the future.
try Aloe Vera natural ,you`ll have to get your own plant and if you still have pimples try peroxide on them and avoid fatty foods.

honestly, acne scars don't mean crap. if you're really worried about them, get a pumice stone and rub vigorously but not too much at once. It will scab over for a few days but then it will greatly reduce the scars. I did that with some of my burn marks and acne scars. Lemon juice helps too but just don't put it on after the rock
don't waste money on surgical procedures, if you're really confident with your looks, nothing can tear you down. stop caring what people think of you soo much, and hey you never know, you can use that surgical money to take out a girl

However, putting the rest of ones life on hold might not be a good idea. Life is too short! Appearance is important but it's not everything! What you obsess over, some people will never see. You're looking in the mirror, possibly a magnifying mirror and seeing this huge issue. Other people see the whole package! IMHO, it's more important to be clean, well groomed, attractively dressed. These things all say I care about me and I like me!
Many times, it's a persons warm smile, warm eyes that draw people in rather than physical beauty. We all know someone who is not the most beautiful looking person but puts themselves out there well, is friendly, happy with self, caring about other people, has a good sense of humor and fun and they are mega popular!
It's very possible that it's time to look beyond the physical imperfections and work the the inside and learn to accept and be happy with self. Then if you want to do the treatments after the year is up, then go for it. But don't live your life in hiding in the meantime.

What can be done to get rid or diminish the appearance of acne scars?
As of right now I have actually been going to this laser place where I just had my acne treated with ALA and supposedly it also helps in diminishing scars as well as getting rid of acne, but so far I have had 2 treatmenst because there isn't use for anymore than that becuase it works better than lasers...but I can say my acne is gone, but I still have the acne scars and am using a Hydroquinone 2% cream, but want to know if there is anyhting else that will help with the fading of the scars before I decide to waste another $3,000 or more on a laser.

I can tell u I know ur strife. I also am one of acne's victims, but my story is quite miraculous. I used proactive as a teenager and that did wonders in clearing up my acne. I was fortunate enough to only have breakout on the sides of my face. The proactive cleared the acne and lightened up the spots fairly well, but they were still very visible because of the dark pigment of my skin. I have been using clean and clear 3in 1 mask and cleaner. You only use the mask once a week but wash twice a day with the face wash. It will work wonders it only cost about 4.99 over the counter. Would I be able to use neutrogena acne scar fade peel?
My doctor told me to not come to him anymore because my face is clear to go. But, he gave me some benzoyl peroxide face wash to use morning and night. Can I use makeup to cover my back acne scars?
At one point, when I was younger, I had back acne, because of the excessive use of hair products. Now, that I'm older, I notice that there are scars there. I'm not sure how to medically get rid of them, BUT I plan on seeing a dermatologist. Do you eat dairy? Like, in any way, shape, or form? This includes cappuccinos, ice cream, buttered toast, and the like =] Most people don't realize it, but a study in Nature last year found that the hormones in milk/cream/butter/etc. can increase acne by up to 2x what it would be without consuming dairy. So you could give that a shot. But, if you do, be sure to take supplements as your doctor recommends to make up for these lost vitamins/minerals.

I'm sure you've tried Proactiv but doesn't work. I've never tried it. but what worked for me was Ginger. It may sound strange but it is very effective. HOw it works is simple. First get some ginger from the grocery store. Peel it out. and cut thin slices in circle or square shape and apply it to your face where there is acne. The trick is u have to let it stick in your face overnight. So u have to apply masking tape or anything you have to make it stay. Once you have it settled in your face it starts to sting but thats letting you know its working. The juice on the ginger dries out your acne overnight. Now when morning comes remove the ginger pieces and take a shower or wash your face. Once you wipe it off u will notice they start to peel off easily. Repeat the ginger process every night before you go to sleep but peel and cut new slices of ginger every time. They can only be use one time only.
I have never tried Proactiv or any over the counter products because simply they tend to dry or worsen your acne, But when i started using ginger it was effective and it has a cool feeling. I had acne for 9 years and ginger was my answer to having clear skin. Try this method since u tried many that didn't work. Also, toothpaste does help a little. But stick with the ginger method its super effective.
The ONE true answer to acne scars is MIDERMA. I've use it after my acne problems and i still do sometimes. It lessens the visibilty of scars and if you keep using it over time the scars slowly diminishes.

Try 1% (or 5%, if your skin isn't at all sensitive) benzoyle peroxide for inflamed (red) pimples. Spread it over your face in the evenings and then wash it off in the morning. 10 minutes after applying it at night, always follow up with an oil-free moisturizer (like Cetaphil cream). For clogged pores and blackheads, try salicylic acid.
For red/brown marks left after the pimple flattens, try DILUTED apple cider vinegar. Never apply it undiluted to the skin or you will get burned. Dilute it 3/4 with water and dab it on red marks (NOT your whole face) 2x daily. They will still take a few months to heal completely, but this will speed up the process.
I had the same problems. I am now 29 and have dealt with it all my life. I sucked it up and got on accutane. I was wary of it but it is the best thing I could have done. What you might think are acne scars is actually just discoloration (I have the same problem, dark red spots where I had acne once). Clinique has a product that evens out skin tone and it's in a white pump bottle (sorry, don't know what it's called). If you use it for 4 weeks it starts to clear up the spots and lighten them.

Following are excellent and wonderful home treatment of acne or pimple scars.
Large pores on facial skin can be treatred with paste of sandalwood (chandan) powder with black gram (masoor) dal. Keep it overnight and wash it with cold water the next day.
This is an excellent and wonderful remedy to get rid of acne scars. Make a sandalwood paste with rose water and apply on the scars. Keep it overnight and wash it with cold water the next day. If you find that your skin becomes dry in the morning, you leave it only for a few hours on your face or you may try adding some milk while making paste.
Rub ice cubes on the face for 10-15 minutes. It will tighten the pores.
Apply cucumber juice on the face. Wash it off after 15 minutes. It will tighten the pores.
Cut the tomato in half and rub on the skin. Leave on for fifteen minutes. Wash it off with water. This will reduce open pores and blackheads. This treatment is good particularly for oily skin.
Carbohydrate foods with low glycemic index or a low GI diet can improve acne by 50 percent.
Grind nutmeg (jaiphal) with unboiled milk and apply on acne for 1-2 hours. This works as a magic. Pimples should disappear without leaving a mark.
Make a paste by mixing honey and cinnamon powder. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. Repeat for two weeks, pimples will disappear forever.

I'm sure you've tried Proactiv but doesn't work. I've never tried it. but what worked for me was Ginger. It may sound strange but it is very effective. HOw it works is simple. First get some ginger from the grocery store. Peel it out. and cut thin slices in circle or square shape and apply it to your face where there is acne. The trick is u have to let it stick in your face overnight. So u have to apply masking tape or anything you have to make it stay. Once you have it settled in your face it starts to sting but thats letting you know its working. The juice on the ginger dries out your acne overnight. Now when morning comes remove the ginger pieces and take a shower or wash your face. Once you wipe it off u will notice they start to peel off easily. Repeat the ginger process every night before you go to sleep but peel and cut new slices of ginger every time. They can only be use one time only.
I have never tried Proactiv or any over the counter products because simply they tend to dry or worsen your acne, But when i started using ginger it was effective and it has a cool feeling. I had acne for 9 years and ginger was my answer to having clear skin. Try this method since u tried many that didn't work. Also, toothpaste does help a little. But stick with the ginger method its super effective.
The ONE true answer to acne scars is MIDERMA. I've use it after my acne problems and i still do sometimes. It lessens the visibilty of scars and if you keep using it over time the scars slowly diminishes.

Using Aloe Vera Gel For Acne Redness And Scars?
Recently I've had a proliferation of red zits/spots around my chin and nose and I've tried treating them with normal acne creams and cleansers but the redness hasn't toned down a lot even though the spots have gone down. Acne is a small pocket of infected oil in the skin, produced by the sebaceous glands located in the chromium of the skin which open into hair follicles. When this oil is trapped and infected it produces pimples known as acne

ACNE:- Pimples on face and body
Acne is a small pocket of infected oil in the skin, produced by the sebaceous glands located in the chromium of the skin which open into hair follicles. When this oil is trapped and infected it produces pimples known as acne
Symptoms: It generally occurs on the face and back and can become abscesses or deep infected lesions in the skin.
Causes: The production of the hormone testosterone, in men as well as women (although it is greater in men), causes the skin cells near the pore produce keratin. When these two substances mix, the greasy oil and keratin produce an amalgamation which blocks the pore causing a blackhead. Suggested treatment daily:
1). Wash your face with a balanced PH liquid soap every day, morning and night to remove the oil. ( Dry your face with a paper towel, So that the skin is not contaminated again ).
2).Apply propolis cream with aloe Vera (women may apply their makeup over the propolis cream).
3).It is a good idea to clean the skin deeply with a cleansing facial mask two times a week, which will remove dirt and oil from the deeper layers of skin.
4) Take Beta-Carotene ( 15mg/daily) Vitamin 鈥?E (800-IU,400IU every 12 hours), Vitamin- C (180 mg) %26amp; Vitamin 鈥?D (800-IU) daily.

i have these little holes and scars (small ones- but they are kinda red) .
I noticed them the other day when my friend finished applying makeup on my face. She rubbed the foundation on so hard that the pimples actually got really red and started to burn. then the pimples were gone and there were little holes.
Is there anything i can do to get rid of them ?

have you tried seeing a dermatologist? usually they can recommend the best type of face wash/cream for your skin type... if you have sensitive skin that easily gets dry i would not recommend getting proactive, that completely dried out my skin and it made my entire face bright red and then it began to peel; then again that was a couple of years ago... do you drink a lot of water? because i also hear that hydration is key! %26amp; also, watch what makeup products you're using, it's possible that that is making it even worse..
Well i dont know if you've already tried it but you could get the tube of benzoyl peroxide 10%. That will really dry the pimples out.

try that new wave thing (the one one the vanessa hutchens comeercial or whatever it is ) i heard it works preety good and btw make up actually causes youto break out more so if you wear it wash you face more than once a day and lotion so your face dosnt get dried out . first Q is how old are u and of course male or female and do u still have new acne or not?if u just have the old acne scar its better if u go and visit a dermatologist thats something they call peeling they have a superficial and a deeper one with fruits acids(its too safe )and with this u can try microdermabration and some oint and ... no need to take any tablet ....some other way is using the laser..they will first test a little part of ur skin if it has any good rsult then u can do it to all ur face,but its better to dont start treatment without a dermatologist idea.How to improve acne scar without going for expensive treatment? food,fruits,ways?

Re-edited after viewing your comments, there is nothing out in the market that is totally chemical free. Otherwise, there is nothing really natural that will eliminate, decrease or remove scarring naturally other than time and patience.
Tea Tree Oil, is about the most natural product you can buy, and I'm sure it has some added chemicals. I used to use it, but I found that skin lightners worked faster.
There is a spanish cream called Crema de Concha, but I doubt it is sold in the USA or anywhere other than Latin America, maybe try to the latin groceries stores to see if they carry it.
Acne scars are hard to get rid of once they form. Putting Vitamin E oil on them can soften them and eventually they might blend into the skin naturally. Good luck.
Retin-A is a good one -- but you can only get it from the doctor. That is if it is really bad... I know cos someone I know used it for about a year ---- dramatic improvement.

Using and exfolient atleast once a week with help diminish the scar too.
U can help with acne by using a benzoyl peroxide treatment, Clearasil Ultra benzoyl peroxide acne cream works really well. Plus u can get it at almost any drugstore-Walgreens, Walmart. I used to have alot of little scars on my T-zone, and after using it for about 2 months u can barely see them. It also helps to prevent new acne, if that is a problem for u too. U need to try it on a small area of ur face first, because u might be allergic to it. But after u use it, about twice a day for a few months, ur skin should really clear up!

mederma works well.but if your not in a rush you can use lemon juice leave on for 15 minutes then wash off then put sun screen on don't use lemon juice if you have sensitive skin.you can put aloe gel on your face at night and wash off in the morning the exfoliating gloves help too.and you can use aloe soap lush has a soap for scars and stretch marks but idk if it works well i think it would.

It depends in which part of the world you live in. A friend of mine did the laser treatment and suffered pains for 2 weeks. The results were NOT that great though. The scars did appear to get better by time, but was it worth the pain and time at home? In my opinion, not really.
The treatments are expensive, but maybe you can get a deal where you can split your payments over several months.

What I have right now reduces my acne quite a bit, but it doesn't completely heal it, and I still have red marks where the acne used to be once it dries up.
