What kind of acne medication have you tried that actually works? or medication to get rid of scars from acne?
i've heard that after having children/getting married its supposed to go away but mine refuses. alot of it is just scars too and its very embarrasingly noticable.. any ideas?What kind of acne medication have you tried that actually works? or medication to get rid of scars from acne?
I tried everything when I was younger, short of acutane. Proactive is good but I had pretty terrible skin and it only helped a little. One of the better presecription meds for scarring is Differine (spelling?). But it's expensive if youdon't carry good insurance. The best home remedy I know of is vitamin D in gel pill form. You poke a hole in the capsule and squeeze the oily contents on the scarred areas and let it soak in over night. It's sticky, smelly, and rather uncomfortable (you'll stick to your pillow). But it really works. Over a 2 month period of time my cousin got rid of some pretty terrible stretch marks. My scarring isn't that bad thank goodness and my skin has cleared up quite a bit and I'm 26. I use witch hazel and always make sure to wash my face 2x daily with an anti-bacterial wash. Forget about all the expensive crap like Loreal and such. I've never had ANY luck. Now.... Este Lauder makes a nice facial bar, nothing fancy. I think it's around $15-20. Good luck. As far as acne scars are concerned, you need to see a dermatologist to see what type of treatment would be the best for your scars. Dermatologists have a classifications for scars: boxcar, rolling, and ice-pick. Depending on the type of scarring you have (and the extent of it, as well as your skin color and complexion), that will determine the best treatment for you: dermabrasion, chemical peels or laser treatments.
There aren't really any effective over-the-counter options for acne scars. Most just don't work or only work for very superficial scars.

How can i get rid of scars from acne?
i have suffered some relatively bad acne throughout the past couple of years, and as much as I try not to, I pick at my acne, and therefore, I have blotchy scarry spots on my face where the zits used to be. so now, even when my face is clear, I can't go anywhere without covering my face with powder. Best foundation/bronzer to cover up scars on acne prone skin with yellow undertones?
I currently use oil free prescriptives spf 15 foundation and physician's formula bronzer. i think the foundation makes me break out more and the bronzer is too ruddy for my yellowish skin, and hard to apply. usually concealer doesn't match my skin so I use liquid foundation to conceal and then the bronzer to even out skin color. i hate the idea of wearing foundation everywhere because less is always more. i would like a safe foundation that i can continue to use sparingly but with great coverage for those scars, and a beautiful bronzer that won't clog my pores. My goal is to be able to go to a reputable plastic surgeon and have some procedures done to improve my skin. I had acne when I was younger and picked at it (BIG MISTAKE!). It was kinda a nervous habit as well. I really hate my skin now. I've been using Dermablend. I also have some pit scars on my back, buttocks, and chest. I am otherwise very attractive so it really bothers me. What is the best make-up to cover up these types of scars? And is there one that will stay on while swimming? Don鈥檛 expect miracles to happen over night. But I can assure you that this cream works. It takes its time... for me it took 2 months but it worked.
All I say is what ever you do, do it religiously and don鈥檛 stop once you start. Continue till you achieve your desired results and even after that.

Take Olive oil 4 table spoons n mix it wid Half lemon's Juice n massage for 15 Minutes daily b4 sleeping n wash wid warm water in morning no matter what sort of Marks u hv,,,,...it ll disappear in some weeks ....But key is regular massage

If you have oily skin, we have some good news and some bad news for you. First, the bad news. People with oily skin have more of a tendency to develop pimples, blackheads and whiteheads, as you probably already know. In addition, your face starts shining due to the oil, making it look dull and dirty. Now for the good news. The excessive oil keeps your skin more elastic, so you will develop wrinkles at a later age than your friends with dry skin will.
This is a basic guide to what you can do to combat two of the most common problems that accompany oily skin.
Pimples
One of the most common causes for the formation of pimples is blocked pores. People with oily skin are more likely to have blocked pores, and so, are more likely to have pimples. Your best bet in this case would be simply to wash your face often, with a face wash for oily skin. Clean and Clear by Johnson and Johnson is fairly effective in this regard. How often you should wash your face differs from person to person. A good rule of thumb would be to wash it with a face wash at least 2 times a day 锟?once in the morning, and once at night, before turning in. If you are in an air-conditioned cabin the entire day, then you need not wash your face more than required, and stick to the once in the morning and once at night rule. If you exercise, whether your face is oily or not, wash your face also as soon as you are done with your workout. Wash it at the gym itself, and don锟絫 wait until you get home, because the perspiration will dry on your face, causing pimples. Similarly, if you travel by public transport and are exposed to a lot of dirt, pollution and warm, humid air, try and wash your face during mid-day as well, bringing it to a total of 3 to 4 times a day. Remember though, if you wash your face more than three times a day, use a gentler face wash like Dove, or wash it just with water.
Shine
How should you get rid of the shine that accompanies an oily face? The best thing would be to splash water on your face as soon as it starts looking oily, and wipe it gently with a towel or tissue. You could also wash your face with a gentle face wash when it starts looking oily, but, once again, don锟絫 use a face wash more than 4 times a day, as this may cause your skin to produce more oil.
However, washing your face during the day may not be very convenient, since you may not have ready access to a washroom. Or, you may have applied make up, and would not want go through the procedure of re-applying all the make-up after washing your face. In this case, consider simply wiping your face with an absorbent face tissue. Carry tissue with you in your bag at all times 锟?it always comes in handy.
If you are satisfied with the lack of shine after wiping your face with tissue, great! If not, then consider carrying a compact powder case with you. Dab on the compact powder lightly, making sure it blends well. The compact powder should not be visible as your face will then look caked, and you will look older, and may even look a little haggard. Your compact powder may cause pimples too at times, so if you find your pimples increasing after applying compact, stop using your current brand, and try another brand after a few weeks.
To avoid any problems with compact powder usage, the best thing to do would be to remove the compact powder as soon as you get home with the help of a face wash or a cleanser. Also, never apply old compact powder on your face.
Use oil-free cosmetics as far as possible. Also, apply an oil-free moisturizer even if you have oily skin, as long as your skin is problem free. Although many beauticians feel that moisturizer is a must at all times, I would recommend that you lay off the moisturizer if you have pimples, until your face is clear.

Skin Cleanser:
Found in your own kitchen is a simple, chemical free cleanser 锟?good ol锟?unboiled milk. All you need to do is dip a piece of cotton wool in milk and wipe your face with it. It also cleans unseen dirt and goes down into your pores. Another fine cleanser is almond oil, especially effective in protecting the delicate skin under the eyes.
Skin Moisturizer:
For normal skin care, you can take 1 cup of yogurt, 1 tablespoon orange juice and 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mix it into a paste. Apply it on your face as a mask and keep it on for 15 minutes. Then clean it off with a wet tissue watch your complexion glow. For dry skin, you could use a mixture of cooked oatmeal and honey; it will not only help moisturize the skin but also acts as a good cleansing agent.

For nourishing your face try a protein mask. You can prepare this mask by first soaking 1 tablespoon urad dal and 4 almonds in water overnight and then grinding them into a paste. You can then apply this protein mask to your face and wash it off after half an hour. This exceptional protein mask will not only nourish the skin but also bleach it.
Wrinkle Prevention and Softer Skin:
To prevent wrinkles and soften your skin, you could try pure castor oil; it is known to slow down the aging process of the skin.
Skin Conditioner:
Another simple and excellent skin conditioner that can be made out of 1 tbsp. honey blended with 2 tbsp. cream (of milk). Leave it on for a few minutes and wash it off. It works like magic.
Skin Blemishes:
For skin blemishes, you can try rubbing a raw potato on your face.
Sun-Protection Lotion:
It锟絪 summer time. Time to cool off. So let锟絪 wind up with a good home-made sun-protection lotion. Take cucumber juice and equal amounts of glycerine and rose water and make a concoction. This should be refrigerated. Try it, it锟絪 really cool.

People with oily skin have more of a tendency to develop pimples, blackheads and whiteheads, as you probably already know. In addition, your face starts shining due to the oil, making it look dull and dirty. Now for the good news. The excessive oil keeps your skin more elastic, so you will develop wrinkles at a later age than your friends with dry skin will.
This is a basic guide to what you can do to combat two of the most common problems that accompany oily skin.
Pimples
One of the most common causes for the formation of pimples is blocked pores. People with oily skin are more likely to have blocked pores, and so, are more likely to have pimples. Your best bet in this case would be simply to wash your face often, with a face wash for oily skin. Clean and Clear by Johnson and Johnson is fairly effective in this regard. How often you should wash your face differs from person to person. A good rule of thumb would be to wash it with a face wash at least 2 times a day 锟?once in the morning, and once at night, before turning in. If you are in an air-conditioned cabin the entire day, then you need not wash your face more than required, and stick to the once in the morning and once at night rule. If you exercise, whether your face is oily or not, wash your face also as soon as you are done with your workout. Wash it at the gym itself, and don锟絫 wait until you get home, because the perspiration will dry on your face, causing pimples. Similarly, if you travel by public transport and are exposed to a lot of dirt, pollution and warm, humid air, try and wash your face during mid-day as well, bringing it to a total of 3 to 4 times a day. Remember though, if you wash your face more than three times a day, use a gentler face wash like Dove, or wash it just with water.
Shine
How should you get rid of the shine that accompanies an oily face? The best thing would be to splash water on your face as soon as it starts looking oily, and wipe it gently with a towel or tissue. You could also wash your face with a gentle face wash when it starts looking oily, but, once again, don锟絫 use a face wash more than 4 times a day, as this may cause your skin to produce more oil.
However, washing your face during the day may not be very convenient, since you may not have ready access to a washroom. Or, you may have applied make up, and would not want go through the procedure of re-applying all the make-up after washing your face. In this case, consider simply wiping your face with an absorbent face tissue. Carry tissue with you in your bag at all times 锟?it always comes in handy.
If you are satisfied with the lack of shine after wiping your face with tissue, great! If not, then consider carrying a compact powder case with you. Dab on the compact powder lightly, making sure it blends well. The compact powder should not be visible as your face will then look caked, and you will look older, and may even look a little haggard. Your compact powder may cause pimples too at times, so if you find your pimples increasing after applying compact, stop using your current brand, and try another brand after a few weeks.
To avoid any problems with compact powder usage, the best thing to do would be to remove the compact powder as soon as you get home with the help of a face wash or a cleanser. Also, never apply old compact powder on your face.
Use oil-free cosmetics as far as possible. Also, apply an oil-free moisturizer even if you have oily skin, as long as your skin is problem free. Although many beauticians feel that moisturizer is a must at all times, I would recommend that you lay off the moisturizer if you have pimples, until your face is clear.

Skin Cleanser:
Found in your own kitchen is a simple, chemical free cleanser 锟?good ol锟?unboiled milk. All you need to do is dip a piece of cotton wool in milk and wipe your face with it. It also cleans unseen dirt and goes down into your pores. Another fine cleanser is almond oil, especially effective in protecting the delicate skin under the eyes.
Skin Moisturizer:
For normal skin care, you can take 1 cup of yogurt, 1 tablespoon orange juice and 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mix it into a paste. Apply it on your face as a mask and keep it on for 15 minutes. Then clean it off with a wet tissue watch your complexion glow. For dry skin, you could use a mixture of cooked oatmeal and honey; it will not only help moisturize the skin but also acts as a good cleansing agent.
Skin Nourishment and Bleach:
For nourishing your face try a protein mask. You can prepare this mask by first soaking 1 tablespoon urad dal and 4 almonds in water overnight and then grinding them into a paste. You can then apply this protein mask to your face and wash it off after half an hour. This exceptional protein mask will not only nourish the skin but also bleach it.
Wrinkle Prevention and Softer Skin:
To prevent wrinkles and soften your skin, you could try pure castor oil; it is known to slow down the aging process of the skin.
Skin Conditioner:
Another simple and excellent skin conditioner that can be made out of 1 tbsp. honey blended with 2 tbsp. cream (of milk). Leave it on for a few minutes and wash it off. It works like magic.
Skin Blemishes:
For skin blemishes, you can try rubbing a raw potato on your face.
Sun-Protection Lotion:
It锟絪 summer time. Time to cool off. So let锟絪 wind up with a good home-made sun-protection lotion. Take cucumber juice and equal amounts of glycerine and rose water and make a concoction. This should be refrigerated. Try it, it锟絪 really cool.

I have around 4 areas on my face with scars left over from acne when I was younger.
I also have alot of pores on my nose that never closed up, even though my black heads are long gone.
I tried some liquid stuff on my nose for a month, to try and close up the pores but didn't seem to do anything.
To be honest the nose thing isn't that important, the scars are what I really hate.
My face is always pretty oily even after washing it.
Does anyone have any tips?

I have had these marks for probably nearly at least half a year now (most of them for many years) and they don't seem like they are going away. keep doing what you do but i think they are getting bigger because there are lots of chemicals in those products which is a bad thing. Try lemon juice - just us a a cotton ball and apply some all over your face. In the beginning it will sting but after a while it wont. Lemon is REALLY good for your skin and is a NATURAL product. Your scars will also disappear with lemon juice. And that's all but wash your face with water and soap/body wash whenever you can rather than using products. But keep using those products.

Can anyone tell me their experience with acne scars?
I have acne scars but they are not indented like some scars but instead smooth, red dots where the pimple had been. I know that people say they fade and that's true, they have faded alot but not entirely. Plus, no matter what I do I continue to have acne which creates new scars just as soon as the old scars are almost faded. If anyone has had this situation (or one like it) I'd like to know what treatments you tried, what worked best for you and any tips. Also, I heard someone say that if you have lighter skin than your scars won't appear as visible. Is this true? If so, why? they eventually fade , i usually apply acne medication to them and they kinda go away and then i every once in a while use this expensive cream to lighten my skin color so it can lighten my scars and it works.

I'm 21 years old, weighs 105 lbs, my natural skin color is brown, and I'm a Filipina. My face started to break out right after I turned 14, 7 years ago. I feel like i have to hide behind a mask of makeup. I dont even like to look in the mirror if I don't have makeup on. And even with the makeup, if you are close you can still see the scars.

go to your DOCTOR and tell them you need help. i use clindamycin phosphate its a perscription
but what you do is wet your face with warm water and rub dove on it rinse off with cold and put this stuff on..
it doesnt dry out your face, it gets rid of the oils, it also prevents breakouts and stops and gets rid of those nasty things it works wonders!! my face was soo baddd and now it's perfectly acne free
and also i would encourage stop eating pizza, chips etc (if you do) because whatever you put into your body must come out and all those greasy foods put oil on your face which creates breakouts. and soda and ho hos.. i mean your not fat. i'm giving you a picture of what type of foods not to eat a general idea.
because i don't know you and your food habits. you know?
but go to your doctor and see what they would prescribe your DOCTOR not a face doctor or a special doctor. no your regular doctor.
as for scars:: go to your doctor mine has this zap thing i havent used it yet but ive heard its great

I am sick of the scares left on my face. I have big dark ones on my cheeks, and some on my chin. Everyday i cover them up with Concealer of foundation or whatever comes in hand to cover them up ( but they are from good brands). I really have lost my confidence, and i have given up. There are some milder acid solutions that have been effective. Depending on the depth and size of the scarring. Check these out. They are not over the counter. I'm not sure if you need an MD to do it. Look in the phone book. In the mean time, there are OTC scar creams. Have you tried them?
There are some milder acid solutions that have been effective. Depending on the depth and size of the scarring. Check these out. They are not over the counter. I'm not sure if you need an MD to do it. Look in the phone book. In the mean time, there are OTC scar creams. Have you tried them?

I had some old acne scars zapped with an NLite laser yesterday. The doctor at the clinic said that the laser would leave marks like a small bruise, but this should clear up within a week or so.
Well, today the marks are a hideous purple. I look like a swarm of bees has attacked my chin and forehead. Has anyone tried NLite laser treatment before? If so, do you know how much longer is it going to be like this? I'm just a bit worried as I am going away somewhere hot in a couple of days, and I don't think my foundation / concealer is going to hide the marks very effectively.

Ok if you are serious about getting rid of your acne scars the you should see a dermatologist. There is a type of laser pulsetreatment that could get rid of your scars. Otherwise don't over exfoliate. Another thing that might help are Curad Scar therapy Clear pads which flatten and slightly fade the scars. Ihope it works!

Or you can just leave the way they are they'll just go away slowly by itself. Sometime if you use so many products on it it gets whirs. You scrub you face (but don't scrub it away) and the friction causes dead cells outside of the scar to fade off, or sluff off. You can exfoliate every day if you don't get too rough. It gives you skin a radiant glow too. Try exfoliating, then try the doc for skin.

When I was younger I had terrible cystic acne on my cheeks. I remember only squeezing one of them and unfortunately got a large scar from it. You should give tea tree oil a shot. I had a acne scar. So I used tea tree oil and within a week my acne scar was gone.
Tea tree oil can be used for any skin type even if you have very sensitive skin. And in that case I would dilute the oil with either water or aloe vera gel, which you can get at any drug store.
There are only two downsides to tea tree oil and that is that the smell is pretty strong, and it can dry out your skin a little, which can be taken care of by using a moisturizer.
The oil can be found in any drugstore/grocery store/health store in the same isle as the finger nail polish remover for about $6. There are many different kinds but you can get whatever brand as long as it says 100% tea tree oil.
Here is what I do.
Every night before I go to bed until the acne or acne scars are gone
I dip a q tip into the tea tree oil and dab it onto the acne or acne scars.
There is no need to rinse it off, and if you are prone to dry skin, in the morning when you wake up you might want to moisturize your skin.

How do I get rid of my acne scars?
I have had quite bad acne for a few years now and have just this year gone on Cilest contraceptive pill and my acne has pretty much cleared up completly. The only problem is I have scars on my forehead and cheeks. i had this on my nose once and i used zit wipes and put on germaline on the worst of the scars { cracked skin } leave it on over night also apply it and leave for half an hour during the day.To remove it gentle wipe it off with damp warm tissue.Also tooth paste also works just apply it were its needed leave it on over night and gently peel of in the morning.

i'm sorry, but there is NO POSSIBLE WAY that you can 'get rid' of your acne scars by monday. they take at least a few weeks/months to go away. to speed up the healing process, by a vitamin e LOTION. this helps heal it.

I have acne scars on my upper arms and on my back. I know you're not supposed to pick pimples, however, I found that when I'm depressed, that's when I pick them. Now that I'm getting the help I need of the depression, I would like some help getting rid of the scars. I'm tired of my boyfriend yelling at me and looking at me in disgust because of them. I don't have much in the way of money, so laser treatments are out as well as anything really over $20 bucks. Are there any home remedies you know of that worked for you? Or something cheap? I'm embarrassed to even wear tank tops or bathing suits until they are gone. They don't even have to be all the way gone, just lighter would make me feel better. finding a good product is a good idea (i swear by clearasil) and use lots and lots of moisturizer before you go to sleep!
maybe try this product called bio-oil, its expensive but works really well over time!

I have a medium olive-peach skintone and light-medium acne scars on my cheeks. Just last week I have been using aloe vera sap to get rid of my acne and acne scars. And obviously, it's not going to disappear in a manner of days, but I do want to know from anyone's experience if it works or not. First, I'll tell you what some of the main causes of acne are: Hormones, Stress, Heavy or Oily Make-Up, Diets, Genes, Sweat, Dirt, Oil, Picking, Plucking, and Squeezing, Oil from when Your Hair gets on Your Face, Clogged Pores, Irritation, and Certain Face Washes. What you always need in your acne wash is Salicylic Acid. Not very many acne washes have this (surprisingly) except for Clearasil and and Neutrogena. I use Clearasil and it has definitely worked for me and I noticed a difference in just one week. When you start using a new acne wash, it's a good idea to only use it once a day and gradually increase to two or three times a day. You should wash your face before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning and of course whenever you get sweaty (after sports, work, etc.). After you wash your face, wait 5-15 min. before you put anything on your face. The water could still be on your face or in your pores even if it's not visible, so you have to wait for it to dry. Once you've waited, put Benzoyl Peroxide on your face (can be found in Clearasil Creams). The Benzoyl Peroxide will reduce zit size and redness and prevent acne from coming back. Be careful when you use Benzoyl Peroxide because if it gets in your hair, it could bleach the part it touched. The only good part about it, is that it will bleach facial hairs and make them not as visible. You also should not put on Benzoyl Peroxide if you are going out in the sun. If the sun has contact with the Benzoyl peroxide it could bleach your skin and leave a mark. Do not put on Benzoyl Peroxide if you have a sunburn on your face because it will dry out the sunburn and cause pealing. It's best if you use the same brand of products. I do not recommend using toners, astringents, or pads. Exfoliaters are not good for your face unless you have really dry skin. If you don't have a lot of dry skin, don't use exfoliaters because it can irritate your acne and cause more acne to appear. Try something like Proactiv. A great idea is a facial. You can take 3 avocados and scoop out the stuff inside and discard the pit. Put a squirt of lotion (any kind) and mix with a whisk. Sometimes you may want to put a hint of citrus (with a lemon being most recommended). But not to much or else it will get sticky and not good for your skin. Aloe works too. You can use like a butter kind of lotion and apply to acne. Sometimes it can come from the sun if you live in a hot, hot place like florida. Just make sure you put sunscreen on if you live where it gets hot and maybe you'll get smoother skin with no acne. Sometimes rubbing honey on will get them gone. Just make sure you leave this mask of honey on for like say about 30 minutes or 45 minutes. A doctor/dermatologist is always good to go too. Try nose strips for black heads also. If you like the idea of a facial here are a few recipes. Honey Facial * (warning - do not use this if you are allergic to eggs!)
1 tablespoon honey
1 egg yoke
1 teaspoon olive oil
Beat the egg yoke with a fork, add the oil and blend well. Add the honey using a spoon that you have rinsed with hot water and blend well again. Smear it all over your face with your fingers, except do not cover your eyes. Leave it on your face for 15 minutes, then rinse it off.

1 cucumber
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon witch hazel (you can buy this in any drug store)
1 egg white, beaten with an electric beater until fluffy.

STRAWBERRY DRAWING MASK
1/2 c Strawberries, very ripe
1/4 c Cornstarch
Mix strawberries and cornstarch together to make a paste and apply it to your face, avoiding the delicate area around your eyes. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water.
CITRUS FRESHNER
2 cups boiling water
1 vitamin C (a preservative)
Lemon peel (zest) from 2 lemons
Dissolve the vitamin in water. In a glass bowl put the lemon zest and pour the water over them. Let it sit over night. Remove the zest and put in a spray bottle. You can use any type of citrus peel.
BLEMISHED SKIN MASK
1 Tomato, ripe, chopped
1 tsp Lemon juice
1 T Instant style oatmeal or old-fashioned rolled oats
Blend everything until just combined. Apply to skin, making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay on blemished areas: cheeks, forehead, or chin. If necessary, add a bit more oatmeal to thicken the mask. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then scrub it off with a clean washcloth dipped in warm water.

to get rid of blackheads- wash face with hot water, then---while your pores are still open from hot water---apply mint julep masque.
for acne/acne scars-- the home remedy i've found that works the quickest and with great results is egg yolk. spread across the acne scars and leave on until they dry [about 15-20 min]. then wash off. for best results, apply 2-3 times a day for 2 weeks. after one week, you should see significant results. even after one day youll see results. i saw more results using egg yolk in reducing redness than when using aloe vera.
egg whites can be used as a mask too
to tighten pores and dry up pimples.
also, theres a multivitamin at target.
this is a REALLY important way to get rid of acne for good.

Try something like Proactiv. A great idea is a facial. You can take 3 avocados and scoop out the stuff inside and discard the pit. Put a squirt of lotion (any kind) and mix with a whisk. Sometimes you may want to put a hint of citrus (with a lemon being most recommended). But not to much or else it will get sticky and not good for your skin. Aloe works too. You can use like a butter kind of lotion and apply to acne. Sometimes it can come from the sun if you live in a hot, hot place like florida. Just make sure you put sunscreen on if you live where it gets hot and maybe you'll get smoother skin with no acne. Sometimes rubbing honey on will get them gone. Just make sure you leave this mask of honey on for like say about 30 minutes or 45 minutes. A doctor/dermatologist is always good to go too. Try nose strips for black heads also. If you like the idea of a facial here are a few recipes. Honey Facial * (warning - do not use this if you are allergic to eggs!)
1 tablespoon honey
1 egg yoke
1 teaspoon olive oil
Beat the egg yoke with a fork, add the oil and blend well. Add the honey using a spoon that you have rinsed with hot water and blend well again. Smear it all over your face with your fingers, except do not cover your eyes. Leave it on your face for 15 minutes, then rinse it off.
Cucumber Facial
1 cucumber
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon witch hazel (you can buy this in any drug store)
1 egg white, beaten with an electric beater until fluffy.
Peel the cucumber and run it through a blender or a food processor. Pour the cucumber pulp into a colander or strainer and force it through, catching the liquid that comes out in a bowl underneath. Combine the cucumber liquid with the lemon juice and the witch hazel. Stir it and add the beaten egg white gently. Put it on your face and leave it on for 15 to 25 minutes, then rinse off.
Refreshing Fruit Facials
PEACH TIGHTENING MASK
1 Peach, ripe, peeled, pitted
1 Egg white
Whip the peach and egg white together in a blender until smooth. Gently pat the mixture all over your face. Relax for 30 minutes, then rinse it off with cool water.
APPLE MASK FOR NORMAL SKIN
1 Apple, cored %26amp; quartered
2 T Honey
Drop the apple pieces into a food processor and chop. Add honey and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Pat the mixture onto your face with a light tapping motion, tapping until the honey feels tacky. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse.
CUCUMBER MASK FOR OILY SKIN
1/2 Cucumber
1 Egg white
1 T Lemon juice
1 tsp mint
Puree everything and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm, then cool water.
STRAWBERRY DRAWING MASK
1/2 c Strawberries, very ripe
1/4 c Cornstarch
Mix strawberries and cornstarch together to make a paste and apply it to your face, avoiding the delicate area around your eyes. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water.
CITRUS FRESHNER
2 cups boiling water
1 vitamin C (a preservative)
Lemon peel (zest) from 2 lemons
Dissolve the vitamin in water. In a glass bowl put the lemon zest and pour the water over them. Let it sit over night. Remove the zest and put in a spray bottle. You can use any type of citrus peel.
BLEMISHED SKIN MASK
1 Tomato, ripe, chopped
1 tsp Lemon juice
1 T Instant style oatmeal or old-fashioned rolled oats
Blend everything until just combined. Apply to skin, making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay on blemished areas: cheeks, forehead, or chin. If necessary, add a bit more oatmeal to thicken the mask. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then scrub it off with a clean washcloth dipped in warm water.

Acne Scarring - permanent or just punishment?
I used to be really bad about picking at my face. My skin has cleared up nicely but I have all these little spots now. Does anyone know if acne scarring is permanent? I know ';scars'; are permanent but it seems like the damage done to my skin at the time wasn't severe enough to cause anything permanent.
